Dailey LLP is pleased to announce the formation of its Cyber and Emerging Technologies Litigation Practice. While the firm has handled matters in this space for years, it has not promoted it as a niche practice area in the past. Going forward, Dailey LLP will build upon its many successful representations of clients who have faced theft of company assets, unauthorized wire transfers, or other financial fraud as the result of cybersecurity breaches or other emerging technologies. Dailey’s attorneys in this practice area will use their substantial experience to help clients navigate post-incident litigation and asset recovery, defend class action litigation, and respond to government investigations and enforcement, including by the SEC and DOJ. Some of our recent representations have included:
- Helping a university recover millions of dollars from several sources in the U.S. and Hong Kong after a fraudulent third party induced a financial institution to unlawfully transfer funds to overseas accounts.
- Assisting a corporate client in recovering millions of dollars related to the theft of money that was supposed to be held in certificates of deposit after the bank claimed several years later and after two mergers that it could not locate the client’s assets.
- Successfully defending a financial institution in a class action over a ransomware attack and breach of third-party data and information.
