Dailey LLP and Levan Legal Merge Distinct Strengths and Shared Values to Serve Clients More Effectively

Jan 15, 2024

Dailey LLP and Levan Legal LLC today announced a merger that combines two growing business litigation boutique firms focused on improving the way legal services are delivered to businesses.

The combined firm has 14 lawyers with decades of experience handling the litigation and government investigations that arise out of corporate deals, investments, and financial reporting.  The Levan team brings significant depth in internal investigations and defense of government investigations and actions, which blends well with Dailey’s existing experience with corporate litigation, private securities litigation, and accountants’ liability defense.

The Firm’s matters will include representing clients in federal and state courts in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New York, and in proceedings before the SEC, PCAOB, and state regulators.  Richard Levan and Ryan Levan will be partners in Dailey LLP, and Marc Durant and Anthony Conte will join the firm as attorneys.

Dailey LLP was founded in 2019 with 4 lawyers when Jeff Dailey left Akin Gump, and Gay Parks Rainville left then Pepper Hamilton. The firm had grown to 10 lawyers prior to the merger with Levan Legal.  In 2023, Dailey LLP was recognized for “Innovation” in the Legal Intelligencer’s edition of the Pennsylvania Law Firm Watch List.  The Firm also was listed in the 2024 Best Law Firms rankings by Best Lawyers.

Richard Levan previously served as Chief Litigation Counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Philadelphia Office and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.  Levan also was a partner at large law firms before founding Levan Legal.  Levan Legal had grown recently, as Ryan Levan joined the firm after several years at Gibson Dunn, where he litigated high stakes M&A, securities, and antitrust disputes. The firm also added well-known White Collar defense attorney, Marc Durant, and Anthony Conte to the firm.

Richard Levan has known Jeff Dailey for over 20 years and Gay Parks Rainville for over 25 years.  Jeff Dailey, co-founder of Dailey LLP, said: “Rich is regarded as one of the nation’s top lawyers handling Securities Enforcement matters, and has become a friend over the years.  As our respective firms continued to grow and thrive, I often turned to Rich as a resource, and it became clear that the strengths of our firms were complementary and that combining our firms made sense for all of us. We share the same high standards for how our colleagues should be treated, how our clients should be served, and how we want to position our firm to continue to thrive in the future.”

Richard Levan added: “I have tremendous respect for the attorneys at Dailey and the top-quality firm they have assembled and look forward to fostering the firm’s strong commitment to excellence and service.  Jeff and I regularly collaborate on matters as well as provide each other business and legal advice.  It was a natural fit.”

The combined firm will be called Dailey LLP, and will maintain offices in Philadelphia, PA, Wilmington, DE and New York, NY.
